Donating bikes to encourage active transport

As part of our commitment to connecting communities and helping to achieve positive outcomes for local groups and residents, Sydney Motorway Corporation provided a grant to Metro Assist to purchase bikes for its members.

Metro Assist provides community services including migrant settlement, family support and early intervention, emergency relief, tenancy services and community development.

Metro Assist is working with its partners to purchase bikes and helmets that will be donated to 40 families and 20 youths, providing them with access to free, fun and reliable transportation.

This initiative aligns strongly with Sydney Motorway Corporation’s sustainability objectives of improving health and the environment, while helping members of the community in the WestConnex corridor that need it the most.

This essential funding will help empower people on a limited income with greater freedom to travel and go about their daily activities, while also encouraging improved physical and mental health.”
